Christmas Time Is Near!

With 21 days left until Christmas I almost have all my Christmas shopping done. Only two more family members to shop for. YAY! With the economy being so low right now I have decided most of my gifts will me handmade creations made with love and care. Another Treasury!

Wow another lucky day with Etsy means another lucky treasury opening for me. This time I chose to go with a peachy keen theme. I just adore this colour from the light peaches to the brighter hues.

Did a little shopping on etsy today. I treated myself to this yummy handmade soap with sweet orange essential oil and oatmeal flakes. Looks good enough to eat! Love this soap too and want to get your hands on some check out BLSoaps shop on etsy!
After treating myself to some wonderful soap I indulged in some lip balm too. Oh how I can't wait to get this on my lips. Filled with flavors of juicy oranges, rich vanilla cream, and hints of tangerine and caramel. How divine does that sound? You just have to get some for yourself. How I just love etsy when looking for the perfect gift. I found this yummy cupcake canvas bag by fellow etstian CarryMeAway. This cute bag was hand-painted and is ideal for your groceries, books, baby essentials and more. It's perfect for the environment too. Such a perfect gift!!

My First Treasury Ever!

Finally the day has come where I've lucked out and snagged my very first treasury on my favorite site to buy and sell all things handmade, Etsy. The treasury is a member-curated gallery of short-lived lists. It functions as a high-demand and promotional tool that many devoted Etsians fight to get. Members can feature their favorite items, items selected on a theme, or just however they like. What better way to celebrate than a tribute to winter which will soon be here. I just love every single piece of winter white I found to include in my treasury which was entitled "Winter Wonderland." I can't wait to create my next one!

After having been so thrilled creating my very first treasury it got even better. I was lucky enough to have been selected in knitsationals treasury entitled "Scarlett Beauty." A collection of beautiful rich reds. Absolutely perfect for this fall season. Thank you so much for including my autumn earrings in this gorgeous treasury.

I woke up sick today with a head cold so didn't have enough oomph to do anything too productive I did play with some ribbon though and made my first ever boutique hair bow. I think it turned out pretty good for a newbie. Thanks to etsy member Shelleybeansbowtique for her awesome help and advice on bow making!

Yummmmy!!

With the weather as cold and rainy as it has been and the days getting darker quicker. It can start to get you down causing you to have the fall blues. Not wanting to do any housework, beading or anything else productive what better way than to stuff your face with chocolate. Right out of the package with no baking necessary I decided to make some nanaimo bars. A wafer crumb-based layer, topped by a layer of vanilla butter icing, which is drizzled in yummy chocolate. Very rich and sweet but oh so good! A yummy treat for all you chocolate lovers =)

Christmas Is Fast Approaching!

Wow it's already a few days into November. Halloween just finished and now the stores have already begun to put out their Christmas themed items. Winter is almost here. Just yesterday felt like summer. Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. Celebrating with family and friends, such a warm and happy time of the year! With the economy the way it is right now, I'm thinking homemade gifts from the heart is one of the best types of gifts to give. So glad I love crafting. What are your gift plans this Christmas?

The time has come for me to shake things up a bit. Needing a change in my creativity I found the desire to create some fun whimsical coasters. Each coaster is made using ceramic tiles and fun decorative scrap-booking paper. Each coaster is backed with cork. Perfect for gift giving or for your very own home decor. I can't wait to make more =)

Creativity Flows Again!

It's been too long since I created anything new. I've finally felt the urge to get creative and came up with this luscious green fringe bracelet entitled Mystic Gables. All wrapped up in gorgeous sterling silver and yummy lampwork beads by glass Artists Dhea & Russ Powers.

Cluster Earrings

Thanks to Jo for her wonderful tutorial on how to make these stunning earrings. Jo is a friend of mine from the wonderful group the BeadHive in which I belong and help moderate. I loved making these earrings so much I couldn't wait to explore other colour combinations. They were designed using clusters of sparkling swarovski crystals and accented with sterling silver Bali beads.

Having some fun with clay!

Here are my very first attempts at hand modeling clay into "food" beads! Some pretty sparkling pink frosted cupcakes with yummy chocolate cake. Some sushi beads complete with rice, salmon and cucumber. Last but not least some green olives complete with some red pimento. These were really fun to make and I can't wait to experiment with more! Hungry Yet? :)

Friday Night Blues

Well it's Friday night. Nothing to do as it is storming heavily outside. One thing comes to mind for a night like this, maybe some bead making! That will help lift my spirits. There's nothing else I'd rather be doing on a night like this :)

Paradise Island Bracelet

I was playing around with my beads today and was inspired to create this beautiful bracelet titled Paradise Island. The gorgeous lampwork beads were created by glass artists Dhea & Russ Powers. Accented with sparkling Swarovksi crystals and all sterling silver.

Polymer Clay Decal Beads

These beads were created using tiny nail decals from my favorite department store. They were a lot of fun to make. Can't wait to experiment with more! Claying is so much fun :)

Springtime Earrings

I was inspired to create something that reminded me of the coast. I used a variety of different beads. Gorgeous seafoam green glass beads accented with golden flecks. I also used stunning sterling silver bali focal beads accented with blue/green glass beads. Seafoam Coast was created with the vision I had imagined!
